The new streaming platform
At the heart of the new streaming platform is an eight-layer streaming board. With more RAM and the use of the I²S interface for communication between the ICs, it is significantly more powerful than the previous model. The new platform will also make it easier to implement new technologies and is backward compatible with existing Naim streaming products.

DSP and converters
A fourth-generation 40-bit SHARC processor, the ADSP-21489 from Analog Devices, is responsible for signal processing. Its more than considerable computing power - 2.7 billion 40-bit calculations per second - offers great advantages, for example in 16x oversampling or in implementing the party mode for all inputs (A/D conversion also allows the use of an analog input for multiroom purposes, for example with a turntable).

Ripping and storing
The integrated CD drive of the Uniti Star all-in-one player is used not only for playback, but also for ripping CDs. Bit-perfect copies are enriched with comprehensive metadata from Rovi and stored locally in WAV or FLAC format.
The Uniti Atom, Uniti Star and Uniti Nova use a connected USB hard drive (Uniti Star and Uniti Nova also SD card) for optional local storage. The three models can manage up to 20,000 locally stored titles and even make them available to other UPnP players in the network.

Class A/B amplifier
The all-in-one players of the new Uniti series use Class A/B amplifiers derived from the legendary NAIT models. The filter sections in the Uniti Nova are equipped with high-quality wired film capacitors. The Uniti Atom and Uniti Star use a combination of wired and SMD components. The output stages of the all-in-one players are twice as "fast" as those of the previous models.

Latest WLAN technology
The all-in-one players are equipped with the latest WLAN technology (802.11b/g/n/ac, 2.5 and 5 GHz), with an antenna on the left and right side of the device, which ensures a stable connection. The antennas are integrated into the cooling fins and shielded internally to prevent impairment of sound quality.

Operation
Instead of buttons, a digitally controlled analog volume control is used. The technology behind this control comes from the NAC-N 272 and offers clear sonic advantages as well as absolute channel equality. The solid aluminum ring and the smooth-running, Naim-developed precision bearing offer a unique haptic experience. With its circumferential lighting and LED segments in the middle section, the control echoes the aesthetics of the Statement preamplifier NAC S1 and the Mu-so.


A new, bidirectional remote control is also included. White backlit buttons give the control a high-quality feel, while LED segments reflect the design of the rotary control on the device and the volume set there.
The LCD display on the front of the all-in-one models also shows the volume. Covers are also displayed, making music selection via remote control as convenient as via the iOS and Android app.

With the market launch of the new Uniti series, the Naim app will be updated. It will then control not only the all-in-one and network players, but also the Uniti Core music server.
