Audiophysic Classic 10 and Classic 20 are here

Audiophysic Classic 10 und Classic 20 sind da

The motto: No loss of fine details has been unmistakably present throughout the entire portfolio. Best tonality, nuanced sound, and a consistently balanced soundscape are the particular strengths of the Sauerland-based company's previous loudspeakers.

Although well-suited for all musical genres, classical and jazz fans, in particular, often found the boxes' special tonal coherence very appealing – many a Yara 2 Classic delivers sensationally precise and resolving sound on a small Naim system – and pleasantly unspectacular at that.

I expected something similar from a new Audio Physic – especially if it bears the names "Classic 10" and "Classic 20."

However, the expectation of "fine-tuning in the right places" was far exceeded with the very first notes.
The new Audio Physics are lively, dynamic, and powerful – while maintaining their open, clear playing style. Never before have I experienced an Audio Physic in this price range (Classic 10 €1700, Classic 20 €2300) that delivered so much fun and punch with Metallica's "Fade to Black" (Cunning Stunts - Live in Texas). The richness of sound of the Classic 20 truly makes a subwoofer superfluous – moreover, the speaker is capable of high volumes and very precise.

In contrast to the Yara 2 Classic, the Classic 20 simply does more – in every area. A speaker that is simply fun. But it also plays more spectacularly – this is where personal taste comes into play.
Thanks to the side-mounted woofers (installed diagonally in the speaker base, radiating on both sides), it achieves a bass depth that is unheard of in this price and size class.

For smaller rooms, the Classic 10 is recommended, which does not feature a side bass chassis. While the additional woofer in the front allows for slightly less bass pressure and level, it also offers even simpler placement, e.g., in small rooms or closer to the side wall.

The look is also very modern; in high-gloss white or black with glass surfaces, the speaker looks anything but "classic" but rather modern in the best sense, just like its tonal tuning. Matching its elegant appearance, the speaker can be obtained with or without a grille, depending on preference.

With the Classic 10 and Classic 20, Audio Physic has once again succeeded in creating a special masterpiece after many small improvements within its tried-and-tested series. The speakers play more spectacularly than the previous models from the Sauerland region in this price range – and precisely because of this, they are a lot of fun. An Audio Physic Classic is also excellently suited for pop, rock, mainstream AND classical music. Together with its modern appearance, one might reconsider whether the name "Classic" is not perhaps a bit too staid – because an Audio Physic has always mastered "Classical" music well, but the new one can do significantly more – and thus becomes a very serious alternative to the established big "all-rounders" from B&W, Monitor Audio & Co. Congratulations on that, we are already looking forward to many exciting comparisons in our studios – the Classic 10 and Classic 20 are now ready for demonstration and order.
