TECHNICAL DETAILS
In terms of physical technology, the LS50 Wireless II takes its lead from KEF's passive LS50 Meta speakers. Metamaterial Absorption Technology1 (MAT), a truly revolutionary tool in KEF's acoustic arsenal, is a highly complex labyrinthine structure where each of the intricate channels efficiently absorbs a specific frequency. When combined, the channels act like an acoustic black hole, absorbing 99% of the unwanted sound coming from the back of the tweeter, eliminating the resulting distortion and allowing for a purer, more natural sound.
MAT & 13th Generation Uni-Q
LS50 Wireless II uses a 13 cm Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which reduces 99% of the sound waves coming from the back of the driver for a clean and pure sound.
Music Integrity Engine
The performance of the LS50 Wireless II is supported by the bespoke KEF Music Integrity Engine, an innovative collection of custom-designed digital signal processing algorithms optimized for the new Uni-Q with MAT driver array, enabling it to deliver perfectly timed performance for improved imaging and tighter, unblemished sound.
Amplifier Development
The LS50 Wireless II also offers plenty of power at the touch of a button. Each tweeter benefits from being driven by a new 100W Class A/B amplifier, delivering smooth, incredibly detailed high-frequency reproduction. Dedicated 280W Class D amplifiers drive the mid/woofers, providing room-filling, balanced sound. The meticulous amplifier development was carried out in-house by KEF to maintain full control over the quality of the delivered performance.
KEF KC62
Deep and powerful bass is no longer solely the domain of large, bulky subwoofers. The KC62 is the David among Goliaths: an ultra-compact subwoofer that, despite its modest dimensions, delivers precise and deep bass for an impressive music, movie, and gaming experience. And just as David defeated Goliath, the KC62's performance renders these subwoofer behemoths obsolete.
Uni-Core™ Technology
The patent-pending Uni-Core™ technology of the KC62 revolutionizes traditional force-canceling design, delivering deep, precise bass from an ultra-compact enclosure. By combining both drivers into a single magnet system, the cabinet size can be reduced by more than a third while simultaneously increasing excursion to achieve exceptional performance and depth.
Five Presets – Same Performance, Anywhere
The KC62 integrates effortlessly into any environment and listening space. Its five preset Room Placement EQ functions ensure the same performance no matter where it's placed: in free space, against a wall, in a corner, in a cabinet, or in the dedicated apartment mode.
Well Connected
The KC62's connectivity allows it to be used with almost any audio system, with KEF SmartConnect and speaker-level inputs eliminating any connection issues. The line output with HPF allows for exceptional, finely tuned adjustment. The KC62 is also compatible with the KW1, allowing for easy wireless connection.
Accurate, Deep Bass with Pace and Power
Precision is a hallmark of KEF, whether in full-range speakers or in subwoofers that deliver sensational bass. A range of innovative technologies ensure the KC62's bass precision, including the P-Flex surround for precise driver movement and Smart Distortion Control Technology, which reduces distortion while maximizing performance via KEF's Music Integrity Engine.
P-Flex (aka Origami Surround)
The P-Flex driver surround has a unique folded design inspired by origami, the Japanese art of paper folding. It is designed to better withstand acoustic pressure within the enclosure and allow the driver more precise movement than traditional surround designs. The result is better depth and more precise and detailed bass reproduction.
KEF KW1 Wireless Kit
The KEF KW1 consists of a separate transmitter and receiver and works with the KUBE series subwoofers, the Kube 8b, 10b, and 12b, as well as with the KF92 subwoofer. This allows KEF subwoofers to be optimally positioned and not restricted by cables. The excellent wireless transmission ensures every nuance of detail and effect of your favorite movies and music.
To supply two KEF subwoofers with the same signal, the receiver is also available individually upon request.
Performance with Ease of Use
The KW1 operates in the 5 GHz band with high transmission bandwidth and delivers audio data up to 24 bit/48 kHz. The transmitter is powered via USB, while the receiver is powered directly via the subwoofer expansion port. Pairing is intuitive, while a range of up to 30 m (line of sight) facilitates placement. The KW1 is also perfect for use with the KEF LSX, LS50 Wireless, and LS50 Wireless II.
