This speaker combines the best of the Epicon series and the flagship Kore, as the name suggests, and is a four-and-a-half-way speaker with custom-made drivers. For high frequencies, it uses the EVO-K hybrid tweeter module, which comes directly from the Dali Kore. This module combines a 35mm soft dome tweeter with an improved version of the ultra-thin ribbon tweeter system in the 55 x 10mm version.
In addition, the speaker has four 8-inch woofers and one 6.5-inch midrange driver. All drivers are equipped with Dali's proprietary Soft Magnetic Compound Gen-2 (SMC Gen-2) magnet material, which was also adopted from the Kore model. This material is used not only in the woofers, but also in the midrange driver and the coil cores of the crossover.
SMC Gen-2 technology represents a further development of the first generation already introduced in the Epicon series. It aims to further reduce hysteresis, flux modulation and eddy currents in the magnet system. This is intended to minimize losses and distortions to ensure highly dynamic and authentic sound reproduction.
Visually, the characteristic paper and wood fiber cone diaphragms of the drivers characterize the appearance of the Epikore 11. The curved cabinet with real wood veneer is available in three different high-gloss finishes, which gives the speaker not only excellent sound quality but also an appealing aesthetic design.
