A particularly exciting highlight of the Perl Pro is the Masimo-AAT (Adaptive Acoustic Technology). This innovative audio measurement system makes it possible to optimally adapt the headphones to the user's ears – that is, your ears. How does it work? Sound waves are sent into the ear canal, and the reflections of these waves are picked up by inward-facing microphones. Based on this reflection image, a personalized "hearing fingerprint" is created, which is then used to compensate for the strengths and weaknesses of the listener's individual hearing.
The entire process is simple and can be started via the accompanying app. It only takes a few minutes. First, the software checks whether the headphones are seated correctly, and then frequencies are played. These frequencies are then combined into a personalized equalizer. The result significantly contributes to the listening experience. Whether you're a bass lover, prefer crystal-clear highs, or are looking for something in between, the Perl Pro offers an impressive range of settings for every type of listener.
In addition to this audiophile masterpiece, Denon has also found an extravagant solution for the fit of the in-ears. Instead of relying on the conventional method where a foam tip is simply inserted into the ear canal, they present a unique design. A foam tip ensures a complete seal of the ear canal, but behind it hides a small, curved edge that, in combination with the interchangeable foam tips, ensures a secure hold in the ear. While insertion requires an initially unfamiliar twisting motion, this design provides an exceptionally stable yet comfortable fit in the ear.
