The EPIKORE series sets new standards for low-distortion high-end loudspeaker reproduction in listening rooms from small to very large. Each loudspeaker in the series uses DALI's second generation of Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC Gen-2™) magnetic material – as well as the EVO-K™ variant of the DALI Hybrid Tweeter Module, directly adopted from the DALI KORE.
When using conventional magnets in loudspeaker designs, it is not uncommon to experience a phenomenon called hysteresis. This leads to unwanted resistance in the voice coil, which in turn can lead to disturbing distortions in the audio signal. SMC Gen-2™ technology was developed to significantly reduce this hysteresis and is the next generation of DALI's patented SMC magnetic material technology.
First introduced in the flagship DALI KORE loudspeaker, SMC Gen-2™ has been integrated into the bass and midrange drivers and as induction coil cores on the crossovers of the EPIKORE series, offering significantly improved properties compared to the first generation of SMC. The result is a further reduction of hysteresis, magnetic flux modulation and eddy currents in the magnetic system. This leads to even lower losses and distortions, allowing the EPIKORE series loudspeakers to deliver highly dynamic and authentic sound reproduction.
Furthermore, all EPIKORE series loudspeakers feature DALI’s characteristic Clarity Cone™ diaphragm structure made of paper and wood fibres, which controls the behaviour of the diaphragm without adding additional weight. With wood fibre cone technology, the EPIKORE series is capable of producing the finest musical details and dynamics.
The EVO-K™ hybrid tweeter module, originally developed for the DALI KORE, combines a large, in-house developed 35mm soft dome tweeter and an improved version of DALI's ultra-thin, high-performance planar-magnetic tweeter element. Together with the extremely powerful neodymium magnet systems, they ensure astonishingly smooth and effortless high-frequency reproduction – at any volume.
EPIKORE 3 brings DALI KORE technology to the compact loudspeaker format for smaller listening environments. Its 3-way architecture combines a low-loss, 7-inch DALI Clarity Cone™ bass/midrange driver with the unique DALI EVO-K™ hybrid tweeter module. A curved compact cabinet contributes to an exceptional visual and musical experience.
DALI has developed optional EPIKORE STANDS for the EPIKORE 3. These stands, available in matte black and fillable with sand, feature internal cable routing and are the perfect solution for anyone wanting to position their EPIKORE 3.
EPIKORE 7 is a compact floorstanding loudspeaker. Its 3½-way format combines two powerful, low-loss 7-inch Clarity Cone™ DALI bass/midrange drivers with the unique DALI EVO-K™ hybrid tweeter module. Outstanding aesthetic quality combined with the finest DALI electro-acoustic technology ensures world-class musical sound reproduction in a stylish design for medium to large rooms.
EPIKORE 9 is a 4-way floorstanding loudspeaker that provides a high-performance sound experience for large listening environments. The EPIKORE 9 combines two low-loss SMC™ Gen-2 8-inch woofers, one low-loss SMC™ Gen-2 6½-inch Clarity Cone™ midrange driver, and the unique DALI EVO-K™ hybrid tweeter module to create remarkable wide-band and low-distortion music reproduction.
