Panasonic's new plasma generation is here

According to the manufacturer, thanks to "Double-Efficiency Technology" and an energy-saving Eco-Mode, the TVs require up to 50% less power than the previous version. Particularly noteworthy is the integrated tuner, which is capable of receiving digital television signals via indoor antenna (DVB-T), via cable (DVB-C), and, of course, via satellite (DVB-S).

Thanks to the new image processing based on the V-Real-Pro 4 chip, the already excellent picture quality of Panasonic plasma TVs has reached a new level of quality. The finest color gradients, fast movements, and large black areas are displayed better than ever before.

Update:
We tested the power consumption of the 42″ device. At factory settings (brightness +/-0), the TV consumes approximately 200 watts. During normal movie operation, power consumption was always between approximately 160 watts and 250 watts, which is absolutely fine for a Full-HD 42″ screen and a significant improvement over previous Full-HD plasma devices. Furthermore, no power consumption was measurable in standby mode with the Voltcraft Energy Check 3000 power cost meter.
