The Evolution
The Debut Carbon is already almost the perfect turntable, especially considering the price and the materials used. Pro-Ject has done a lot of research to make the Debut Carbon even better, but the main goal has not changed over the years. Pro-Ject still aims to build an affordable high-performance turntable that not only looks incredibly luxurious and modern but also offers excellent sound quality.
Damped from within
The predecessor's platter was already heavier than all others, but a metal platter also has a disadvantage: resonances.
Pro-Ject TPE technology (thermoplastic elastomer) now helps to fully dampen these resonances and also increases the weight to 1.7 kilograms. Since the TPE is mounted on an outer ring, the kinetic energy also creates a flywheel effect. The result is even quieter operation with less wow and flutter.
Perfect stance at all times
The old Debut Carbon had only one real drawback, which Pro-Ject definitely wanted to improve with the new EVO standard. Until now, the Debut was delivered with four damped plastic feet. The new Debut Carbon EVO uses three height-adjustable solid metal feet to ensure level positioning on any surface. With three feet, stability on uneven surfaces could be increased, as a perfectly level turntable is essential for true high-end sound.
The new motor suspension
The Debut Carbon EVO features a newly designed motor suspension. Since the cartridge needle is a very sensitive component, motor vibrations can be transmitted to your loudspeakers and cause mechanical noise. It is therefore important to decouple the motor. The previous motor suspension almost always worked perfectly, yet the old design was
further modified to achieve an even better result. This further reduced vibrations.
From record to amplifier
The new Debut Carbon EVO features the proven 8.6″ carbon tonearm. In combination with the premium Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, the super-stiff yet lightweight tonearm delivers outstanding sound quality with a convincing soundstage. The non-removable headshell prevents unwanted resonances and provides perfect support for the cartridge.
To ensure an interference-free connection to your amplifier, Pro-Ject turntables are supplied with a high-quality phono RCA cable. The Connect it E is a semi-symmetrical cable with low capacitance and excellent shielding. Compared to other analog music sources, the phono signal is inherently very susceptible, and cheap RCA cables often do not offer the ideal conditions for transmitting a phono signal to an amplifier.
