There is hardly any area of consumer electronics where the differences between theory and practice are as great as in home cinema.
Projectors often look similar on paper. Speakers differ only nuanced in technical values. AV receivers advertise with ever new functions and terms such as Dolby Atmos, Dirac Live or HDMI 2.1. But how that actually feels in your own living room or basement cinema can hardly be gathered from brochures or YouTube videos.
That's why we dedicated a separate home cinema to our new showroom.
Not as a gallery for beautiful technology, but as an experience room where you can see, hear and compare.
A cinema to try out
After many months of planning and construction, our cinema studio is now complete. The first customers have already planned their future home cinemas here, compared different systems and found their personal solution.
We notice again and again that many visitors come with a very specific idea – and leave with a completely different one.
Not because we want to convince them, but because they suddenly experience differences themselves.
See what data sheets don't show
Projectors and screens are a good example.
Of course, resolution, brightness or contrast values differ on paper. But it only gets really exciting when two projectors work directly side by side on different screens.
With us, you can therefore directly compare different projection systems and screen types and see for yourself which combination best suits your rooms and viewing habits.
Because not every home cinema automatically needs the most expensive solution.
How many speakers does a good home cinema need?
This question is probably one of the most common ones.
The honest answer is: it depends.
That's why we show different speaker concepts in our cinema studio – from classic surface-mounted speakers to almost invisible built-in solutions.
Currently in use, among others:
- Monitor Audio W3M as a high-quality built-in speaker system
- DALI Sonik as a classic surface-mounted system
- SVS subwoofers for the low-frequency range
Our switching technology also allows us to easily integrate additional speaker systems into the room and compare them with each other.
Dolby Atmos to touch
Our demonstration cinema was fully built and calibrated as a Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 system.
Among others, AV receivers from various manufacturers are used, such as:
- Denon
- Marantz
- Arcam
- Onkyo
All systems were carefully calibrated with Dirac Live, so you can directly experience the possibilities of modern room correction.
Again, the goal is not to theoretically explain differences, but for you to hear them for yourself.
A good home cinema is not just about technology
At least as important as speakers or projectors is the room itself.
Many visitors are surprised by the influence room acoustics have on speech intelligibility, spaciousness, or bass reproduction. That's why we also use our cinema studio to show how enormous improvements can be achieved with thoughtful planning.
This is not just about acoustics, but also about design.
After all, a home cinema should not look like a technical room. It should be a place where you like to spend time - whether for the next blockbuster, a concert or a cozy movie night with the family.
Good home cinemas don't have to cost a fortune
An astonishingly large number of visitors share one experience after their first demonstration:
"I didn't think a home cinema in this price range could sound so good."
Of course, we can also realize very demanding installations. But we also enjoy getting the maximum out of a reasonable budget.
Because that's exactly what we understand by good advice: not to sell as much technology as possible, but to jointly find the solution that brings long-term joy.
