OLED technology is no longer new to LG, as the manufacturer has had these TVs on the market for almost a decade. Some of the new models (the OLED G2 series) now use LG's OLED evo technology. This not only brings better brightness, but also more detailed images and thus a generally increased picture quality. The improvement in brightness in particular should be a source of joy. Although LG is a leader in black levels, bright HDR scenes are a bit more critical - until now. That's why the models are equipped with optimized heat dissipation, which achieves higher peak brightness. Deep learning and improved upscaling are also among the innovations. The TVs have been certified by the company "Intertek" for 100 percent color fidelity and 100 percent color volume.
This year, the six models in the OLED G2 series will not only include an 83-inch TV, but also, for the first time, a 97-inch TV. As usual, the TVs are still available in 55, 65, and 77-inch sizes. In addition, the C2 series portfolio includes a 42-inch OLED TV, and the 48-inch size is also represented. The OLED C2 series (the successor to the CX series) is characterized by thinner bezels and thus an even slimmer design.
Depending on the model, the integrated TV speakers generate virtual 7.1.2 surround sound. Up to four HDMI 2.1 ports should satisfy all your needs. These support versatile gaming standards such as VRR, Freesync, and G-Sync, so this area is also well-equipped. The latest version of the webOS 22 Smart TV platform allows you to create your personal profiles, for example, to store streaming services accordingly. What we particularly like is the ability to mirror the screen of a mobile device to the LG TV. It is even possible to mirror the content of one TV in the house to another.
As mentioned at the beginning, there are also innovations in QNED (Quantum Dot NanoCell technology). With these TVs, you can look forward to a particularly good color reproduction. Even the QNED MiniLED TVs are supposed to display rich colors even in extremely bright or dark areas of a scene. Care was taken to ensure that different viewing angles also deliver high-quality images. The black levels do not reach those of the OLED devices, but they are good nonetheless. The reason is that LEDs are made to glow by a light in the background, while OLEDs glow themselves. Therefore, the pixel is switched off when complete black is required.
When we have the LG models in stock, we are of course happy to welcome you. In our store, the various TVs can be compared with each other.
