The UnitiQute includes a streaming client for all common formats, a tuner with FM/DAB and Internet radio, a D/A converter with 4 inputs (2x optical, 2x electrical), an analog input and output, and a stereo amplifier with Naim's typical musical, powerful sound. In addition, the Qute offers a USB input to which iPods can also be directly connected.
Operation is "out of the box" via a remote control and an easy-to-read display. Those looking for a meaningful expansion can also control the device via an iPod Touch or iPhone using the n-Serve extension (€30). The advantages are literally "at hand": The touch display shows where you are currently navigating through the network. The desired music track or album can then be played by touch.
In Stereo 11/2010, pp. 44/45, the player was thoroughly tested (or rather, its transformer and transistor ;)). The result: Despite its small dimensions, the UnitiQute is convincing across the board. Quote from Stereo: "Don't ask us how... the little one plays extremely zippily and lively as well as musically and smoothly." Conclusion: Outstanding sound as an amplifier and as a streamer, outstanding price/performance, 5 out of 5 "stars."
We are of course happy to point out once again that the UnitiQute has been on display and, above all, available for listening in our demonstration for weeks.
