Samsung OLED TV

Samsung OLED TV

The standard features in Samsung's TV top class, such as a quad-core processor, Smart TV, AllShare, multiple TV tuners, various interfaces, Smart Hub, built-in camera, WLAN, and LAN – to name just a few – do not need further explanation here.

In terms of appearance, Samsung also sticks to what has proven successful, the so-called Timeless Design already known from the S9 model series. Given the curvature of the screen, the new name makes sense: it is now called Timeless Arena Design.

What might be more exciting or stimulating for some is the following: The screen's refresh rate is set so high that two different TV programs can be displayed and viewed simultaneously. Samsung's term for this is Multi View. To fully utilize this technology, appropriate shutter glasses are required, two pairs of which, according to the manufacturer, will be included in the delivery. Thus, it is conceivable and feasible for two people – each equipped with shutter glasses and headphones – to watch two programs on one device at a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 in Full HD and listen in stereo. How (un-?)social that is remains a subjective assessment.

The picture quality is said to be exceptionally good due to OLED technology, outshining everything that has come before.

If you want to get an impression of the new generation of devices, visit IFA in Berlin from September 6th to 11th, 2013. Our OLED Week will take place from September 30th to October 5th.
