Thorens
The story begins in 1883 in Ste Croix in the Swiss Jura, when Hermann Thorens has the company entered in the commercial register. The purpose of the company was the manufacture of music boxes and music mechanisms. This was followed by numerous innovative developments such as the first electric motor for gramophones and MM cartridges. Thonrens achieved world fame in 1968 with the production of record players with a manufactured sub-chassis.
Even today, more than a century later, Thorens turntables are still extremely popular. Based in Bergisch Gladbach, the company now produces and manufactures exclusively in Germany.
