With the AT-LP8X, Audio-Technica expands its range of direct-drive turntables with a semi-automatic model featuring a newly designed tonearm lift that automatically raises the tonearm at the end of the record and stops the motor.

The J-shaped aluminium tonearm was inspired by classic A-T turntables from the 1960s and '70s and is equipped with the newly developed AT-LT10 headshell and the AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge with elliptical stylus (0.3 x 0.7 mil). This combination delivers excellent channel separation, low distortion, and outstanding sound quality. In addition, there is the option to replace the original stylus with one of the five styli from the VM95 series; and the VTA (vertical tracking angle) adjustment of the tonearm, together with the sub-counterweight, also allows the use of a wide selection of other cartridges.

The AT-LP8X offers three playback speeds, 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM. Its rubber-damped, low-resonance 25 mm thick die-cast aluminium platter with a 2.5 mm rubber mat is driven by a sensor-controlled motor that ensures consistent rotational speeds and high stability. This motor and the highly efficient internal switching power supply are housed in an MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) chassis, whose height-adjustable feet also provide excellent protection against unwanted vibrations and noise.

The turntable comes with a detachable RCA connection cable (2 x RCA plugs to 2 x RCA plugs plus ground), a 45 RPM adapter, and a detachable dust cover with hinge mounts.

The tonearm lift of the AT-LP8X automatically raises the tonearm at the end of the record and the motor stops – rare features on a direct-drive turntable. This allows you to relax and enjoy your records without having to pay attention to when the record ends.

For Even Better Sound
The turntable's AT-VM95E cartridge is compatible with all replacement styli from the Audio-Technica VM95 series, allowing you to easily experiment with different stylus types and upgrade your setup with higher-quality styli – for an even more detailed sound or to swap for an AT-VMN95SP stylus for 78 RPM records.

The robust MDF chassis, height-adjustable feet, and thick, rubber-damped, low-resonance die-cast aluminium platter with a 2.5 mm rubber mat counteract unwanted vibrations and noise, allowing you to enjoy your music in peace and with all its details.
