The only way to avoid characteristic impedance mismatch between a cable and the source and load circuits to which it is connected is to not let the cable have any characteristic impedance. ZERO-Tech achieves this by eliminating the electrostatic field between the high-level and low-level conductors. This enables linear (even octave to octave) dissipation of Radio Frequency (RF) Noise as well as uncompressed transients. To obtain full ZERO-Tech isolation between the signal conductors, a double DBS pack is included for XLR cables.
PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER+ (PSC+) SOLID-CORE CONDUCTORS
Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand interaction. PSC+ Solid-Copper minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and enables maximum linear high-frequency noise dissipation.
POLYETHYLENE FOAM INSULATION
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs next to no energy, and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, air-filled Polyethylene Foam Insulation is used for both conductors. Thanks to the air in the Polyethylene Foam, it causes significantly less out-of-focus effect than other materials.
LEVEL 6 NOISE-DISSIPATION (INTERCONNECTS): ZERO-TECH + CARBON/GRAPHENE MESH-NETWORK + DIRECTION-CONTROLLED
Radio-Frequency Noise from cellular, WiFi, and satellites is everywhere. AQ’s Level 6 Linear Noise-Dissipation includes a carbon & graphene resistive mesh-network, direction-controlled conductors, and Silver-Plated drain wires, significantly minimizing RF Noise masking effects.
COPPER-PLATED RF DRAIN HOUSINGS
Ground-plane Copper-Plated housings maximize noise dissipation by minimizing RF Noise capacitive coupling to the signal conductors.
HANGING SILVER OVER RED COPPER PLUGS
The best plugs in the AudioQuest range feature high-quality Hanging Silver (not tumble-polished) over extremely pure Red Copper.
