While Toslink, thanks to HDMI, is no longer as commonly used to connect a DVD player to an A/V receiver, Toslink connections are common on cable boxes, TVs, subwoofers, and all sorts of other products. And now the 3.5mm miniature optical plug, mistakenly also called Mini-Toslink, is everywhere... from a Mac laptop’s 3.5mm dual-purpose headphone jack to the inputs of some of the best portable devices.
