These new NRG-X Series power cords utilise directionally controlled long grain copper (LGC) in a semi-rigid concentric topology - a sophisticated physical arrangement where the strands are more densely packed and never change position within the bundle. Directional LGC minimises distortion from grain boundaries present in each metal conductor, which in turn ensures that induced noise is properly conducted and dissipated - as always, AudioQuest directs noise to where it will do the least harm to your system's performance.
While the previous X cables had 37 strands in three layers over the single centre strand, the new X series power cables have only seven larger strands consisting of a single even layer over a centre strand. This refinement may sound simple, but the improved result is pleasingly clear.
In addition, the 3-pole NRG-X3 is available with C13 and C5 female ends to accommodate a wide range of today's new components.
