Breathtaking Sound
The convenience of music streaming was once negated by its quality. Thanks to products like the CXN100, this is no longer the case. It was developed to provide uncomplicated access to digital formats, but with the uncompromising sound quality that goes back to over 55 years of development experience in the hi-fi industry.

ESS SABRE 9028Q2M DAC
Its award-winning predecessor, the CXN V2, had two Wolfson DACs on board – top-class components for its time. The CXN100 has been brought up to date with the latest technology. Its single ESS 9028Q2M DAC chip is a good example of this. It sounds better and has better values than any DAC Cambridge Audio has ever installed in a network player.

In addition, the timing filter in the ESS 9028Q2M is so good that no filter is required after conversion, simplifying the signal path and meaning less technology gets in the way of the music. With the inclusion of the CXN100 in Cambridge's network player range, all Cambridge Audio streaming products are now equipped with ESS DACs.

ENGINEERED IN LONDON
While the casing may look familiar, the CXN100 has undergone major changes under the hood. Hundreds of hours were spent listening and replacing critical audio components such as capacitors and operational amplifiers to optimize the entire analog stage after D/A conversion. Then measurements were taken to confirm the results of the listening tests. The result? Improved signal-to-noise ratio, less distortion and an unadulterated digital music experience.

BALANCED XLR CONNECTIONS
For connection to a compatible amplifier, such as the award-winning Cambridge CXA81, balanced XLR connectors are the best possible analog option. These offer significantly improved immunity to interference, especially with long cable runs.

StreamMagic
The CXN100 offers free and paid high-resolution streaming services in the best sound quality. With integrated Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast, you can also access Apple Music, Amazon Music, BBC Sounds and other services. The CXN100 is also Roon Ready, which bundles the browsing of your digital music in one place.

4TH GENERATION STREAMING MODULE
At Cambridge Audio's London headquarters, StreamMagic has been perfected for over 10 years. It is the clever combination of hardware and software that powers all Cambridge network players. We are now at the 4th generation of the streaming module. It is the same one you will find in the award-winning Evo all-in-one players.
With this latest module, you can enjoy all current file formats and resolutions up to 32 bit / 768 kHz, DSD512 and MQA in impressive quality. The accompanying StreamMagic app is intuitive and powerful, allowing seamless control of your music, no matter where you stream from – whether via internet radio, Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz or Deezer – or if you play downloaded music files. And with over-the-air (OTA) updates, your CXN100 will always get better as new services or features become available.

MQA NOW INTEGRATED
MQA stands for Master Quality Authenticated and is a clever way to ensure that what is recorded in the studio reaches playback devices all over the world without errors. It is best known for its integration into TIDAL. MQA technology folds the original high-resolution files (whether WAV, FLAC, etc.) so small that they can be easily transmitted. These files can then be played on any device that can decode the container. However, only devices with a built-in MQA decoder are able to "unfold" the file to reproduce the tracks completely as they were originally recorded.

The Brain of Your Hi-Fi System
The CXN100 could probably best be described as the brain of your hi-fi system. Thanks to its fantastic internal D/A converter and a variety of connections, it is also an ideal sonic upgrade for other digital music sources – such as CD drives or CD players with digital outputs.

DIGITAL CONNECTIONS
On the back of the CXN100 you will find 2 digital inputs (1x TOSLINK optical and 1x S/PDIF coaxial) for connecting digital sound sources. There is also an asynchronous USB input, which is perfect for connecting PCs and Macs. Use this connection to access music in the highest resolution (up to 32 bit / 768 kHz & DSD512).
Local files on a USB drive can be played via the USB mass storage port, and Bluetooth allows easy playback from mobile phones or similar devices.

PREAMPLIFIER MODE
The CXN100 also features a digital preamplifier mode. What does this mean? Simply put, the CXN100 can control the volume of any digital sound source connected to it. Use the new haptic rotary control or the StreamMagic app to find the ideal volume.

LARGE COLOR DISPLAY
Often, the display of a hi-fi system seems like an afterthought. Not so with the CXN100. In addition to all the new internal components, it features a larger, brighter 1280 x 569 pixel TFT display that shows album art and device status.
