The HA-6A MK2 is the long-awaited second-generation upgrade to Cayin's highly acclaimed HA-6A. With the newly introduced dual-chassis architecture, the power supply is separated from the amplifier circuit to minimize magnetic interference.
Featuring a fully hand-wired point-to-point design, the HA-6A MK2 offers pure signal transmission. It retains the rich, emotional sound that Cayin is known for.
Tube Configuration
At the heart of the HA-6A MK2 are undoubtedly carefully selected and matched vacuum tubes, including:
- 2 × JJ GZ34 / 5AR4 (High Voltage Tube Rectification)
- 2 × JJ ECC82 / 12AU7 (Voltage Amplification Stage)
- 2 × Genalex KT88 (Class-A Power Amplifier with Unbalanced Output)
Each tube was selected for its acoustic character, stability, and longevity. The power tubes operate in a pure single-ended Class-A configuration, offering excellent linearity.
The amplifier was developed with tube enthusiasts' needs in mind and offers broad tube compatibility – it supports power tubes such as 6550, KT66, KT150, and others.
Two Operating Modes: Triode and Ultralinear
To adapt the sound to various music genres and listening preferences, the HA-6A MK2 features two selectable operating modes:
In triode mode, the sound is soft, elegant, and naturally warm. Ideal for vocals, jazz, and acoustic music.
The Ultralinear mode (UL) offers extended dynamics, tighter bass, and improved control. This mode is suitable for orchestral or film recordings.
Switching is easily accessible from the front, allowing for instant real-time listening comparisons.
Versatile Connectivity with Pre-Amplifier Capability
The amplifier offers a wide range of connection preferences for various headphones. In addition to headphone amplification, it also features an RCA pre-amplifier output, allowing it to function as a high-quality tube pre-amplifier when connected to a separate power amplifier or active speakers.
The HA-6A MK2 features two input connectors:
- XLR balanced input
- Unbalanced RCA input
It offers a wide range of headphone types and connection preferences.

Two-Chassis Design
To maximize performance and minimize magnetic interference, the HA-6A MK2 features separate power supply and amplifier chassis. Custom EI output transformers and a dedicated toroidal transformer were developed specifically for the HA-6A MK2. Internal component shielding and optimized module arrangement ensure low noise.
A high-quality aluminum remote control for volume and mute completes the package.
