As one of the few headphones of its kind, the NOIRE XO almost perfectly reproduces the industry-recognized Harman target curve. In practice, this means an exceptionally balanced sound signature – including powerful, controlled bass, usually only found in closed-back headphones, without sacrificing spatial depth or detail resolution.
At the heart of the NOIRE XO is a newly developed, revised driver: stiffer, more precise, with less distortion, and significantly improved manufacturing consistency. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the NOIRE XO is the integration of the Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System (AMTS) – a technology previously only used in the high-end headphones Stealth, Expanse, E3, and Corina.
AMTS uses advanced metamaterials to precisely control the frequency response while eliminating high-frequency standing waves that would otherwise lead to harsh, fatiguing highs. The result: crystal-clear, airy highs without harshness, allowing for hours of pleasant listening – even at high volumes and with demanding recordings.
Ergonomic Design Meets Acoustic Precision
The NOIRE XO is not only outstanding in terms of sound – it also sets standards in wearing comfort. The self-tensioning headband distributes the clamping pressure evenly across the entire head, effectively preventing pressure points. In conjunction with the new Alcantara velour ear pads, a light, barely noticeable wearing sensation is created, offering maximum comfort even during long sessions.
The newly developed ear pads also reduce foam slippage, thus extending lifespan and consistent performance. They are compatible with other DCA models such as the AEON 2 NOIRE, AEON RT Closed, and AEON 2 Closed.
