Before using the product, read the instructions and keep them carefully so that you can refer to them again later if necessary.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1) Read these instructions.
2) Keep these instructions safe.
3) Heed all warnings in these instructions.
4) Follow all instructions.
5) Listening through headphones at high volume can damage the user's ear and lead to hearing damage (temporary or permanent deafness, ringing in the ears, tinnitus, hyperacusis). If the ears are exposed to excessive volume (over 85 dB) for more than one hour, this can lead to irreversible hearing damage. Therefore, always turn on the headphones before wearing them. It is also strongly recommended not to use the headphones at full volume and not for more than one hour per day at medium volume. Do not use the headphones continuously; take breaks. If there is ringing or whistling (tinnitus) in the ears, hearing loss, or a "muffled" sensation, immediately stop listening through the headphones. If the symptoms persist after a few hours, consult your doctor immediately, who will refer you to a specialist (ENT) if necessary. In some cases, immediate treatment can prevent irreversible damage.
6) Always turn on the headphones before wearing them, and turn the volume of the hearing device to minimum before connecting your headphones and increasing the volume. Once you have put on the headphones, gradually increase the volume to an appropriate and comfortable level.
7) Never use the headphones without the pads or ear tips.
8) Make sure you use the headphones in such a way that you can always hear ambient noises. In particular, the product's active noise cancellation can make ambient noises inaudible or drastically change the perception of acoustic warning signals; the reduced ability to hear ambient noises poses a risk to you and your surroundings. Do not use the headphones in conditions that require special attention (outdoors in heavy traffic, near construction sites or railway tracks, etc.). Never drive a vehicle (car, motorcycle, boat, electric scooter, etc.) or ride a bicycle, skateboard, rollerblades, hoverboard, etc., while wearing headphones. Any use in these situations is dangerous and, in some countries, illegal.
9) It is also inadvisable to use the headphones while running, walking, or engaging in other activities in busy places. If you use the headphones in these situations, set the volume low enough so that you can hear ambient noises such as horns, alarms, and warning signals.
10) Ensure that children and adolescents under 14 years of age do not use the headphones unsupervised. Be especially careful with children and adolescents who frequently use these devices at excessive volume.
11) Use the headphones only for their intended purpose. Never use the headphones as hearing protection. Do not use the headphones for communication in aviation.
12) Use compliant adapters to connect your headphones to airplane seat jacks. Otherwise, you risk personal injury or property damage due to overheating.
13) If you notice heat generation or a loss of audio signal, immediately remove the headphones and disconnect them from the audio source.
14) Do not place burning objects near and/or on the headphones, such as burning candles, lighters, etc.
15) Do not subject the headphones to weight or pressure for too long, even when they are turned off or not in use.
16) Do not expose your headphones to moisture or immerse them in water.
17) The headphones do not require special cleaning. If necessary, use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents.
18) Have repairs or maintenance work performed by qualified personnel. This may be necessary if the device has been damaged in any way (e.g., by spilled liquids, damaged cables, rain, dropping, etc.). Do not make any alterations to the system or accessories. Unauthorized alterations can affect your safety, compliance with regulations, and the performance of the device. If you replace your pads, make sure you replace them only with the specific model of pads provided by the manufacturer, so that the sound quality and active noise cancellation are not affected.
19) This product carries the risk of: • Suffocation; • Fire or electric shock (Do not expose the device to rain, moisture, or other liquids).
20) This product contains magnetic components and generates magnetic fields that can cause interference with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators. Consult your doctor before using the headphones if you have questions about the effect of these components on the function of an implanted medical device.
21) This product complies with all applicable European regulations and directives. This symbol indicates that the product (and, if applicable, the battery) must not be disposed of with household waste but must be handed in for recycling at a suitable collection point. Proper disposal and recycling protect natural resources, human health, and the environment. For more information on the disposal and recycling of this product, contact your city administration, waste disposal company, or the store where you purchased the product.
22) This product contains a lithium-ion battery that must be handled with care. Lithium batteries can be dangerous if not used and handled properly. In extreme cases, abnormal use of lithium batteries can lead to: • an explosion • a fire • heat generation • smoke or gas generation.
23) Caution, do not open the device. It is forbidden to disassemble, open, pierce, or perform any other actions on the battery. Caution: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is not replaced correctly. The replacement and/or removal of the battery from your Focal product must be performed by qualified personnel. The battery must be replaced with a battery identical to the original battery and available from a Focal dealer. Focal cannot guarantee the safety and compatibility of batteries from other manufacturers or their correct function with the device. Do not short-circuit the poles (+) and (-) of the battery with conductive elements (especially by contact with metal objects) or in any other way. Do not reverse the polarities. Do not place burning objects near and/or on the integrated battery of the headphones. In general, the battery should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sun, fire or similar (above 70°C) and/or humidity of over 90%. Do not expose the battery and charger to water (do not immerse, do not pour liquids over it, do not expose to condensation, and do not let it get wet). Do not expose it to rain. Never use a damaged battery. Do not subject the battery to shocks or vibrations. In case of strong impacts, you should no longer use the battery. Do not destroy or incinerate the battery. Exposure to the internal components of batteries or their combustion products can be dangerous. If this is the case, contact your doctor. If the battery emits an unusual smell, heats up unusually, or deforms during use, turn off the device immediately and contact your Focal specialist dealer. Use this product only with an approved power supply with limited power (LPS) that meets local legal requirements (e.g., UL, CSA, VDE, CCC & CE). Charge the battery only at an ambient temperature between 0°C and 45°C. Never charge a swollen, leaking, or damaged battery. Never use a modified or damaged charger. Charge the battery only on non-combustible surfaces (do not charge it on a flammable surface such as carpet or parquet) and do not charge it near flammable materials. Charge the battery on a non-conductive surface to avoid damage, especially due to a short circuit. Keep the battery and charger out of reach of children under 14 years of age. Do not use the headphones when the battery is charging. The battery (original or replacement battery) must not be exposed to heat such as sunlight, fire, or similar.
