The conductor in Hegel's reference class

The Hegel P30A is not just a preamplifier - it is the conductor of your audio system. With absolute control, impressive attention to detail and musical sensitivity, it conveys the grandeur, dynamics and emotion of every single piece of music. Whether it's smooth jazz, energetic rock or classical symphonies - the P30A makes music sound the way it was meant to. Authentic. Precise. Convincing.

As the reference preamplifier in the Hegel line, the P30A is at the centre of the sound architecture. Its task is to pass on the sensitive signal from the source to the power amplifier with maximum integrity - unadulterated, clean and dynamic. Hegel is convinced that the preamplifier is the most critical component of a high-quality audio system - and at the same time the most demanding in terms of development.

Only hand-picked, paired FET transistors are used in the P30A - personally tested by Hegel founder and chief developer Bent Holter. The accurate tuning ensures an unadulterated, natural sound image without harsh overtones - with a clarity that can otherwise only be experienced live. The internal architecture is uncompromisingly designed for maximum signal purity: extremely short signal paths, minimal component density and only two transistors as well as an ultra-low-noise volume control in the signal path.

This is complemented by Hegel's patented SoundEngine technology, which recognises and eliminates interference and intermodulation distortions in real time - even before they become audible. This ensures that the signal remains stable, clean and dynamic throughout the entire process.

The P30A is fully balanced: Each channel has two separate amplifier strips, volume controls and SoundEngine modules. This dual-mono configuration minimises sound-distorting influences and ensures exceptionally high channel separation - and therefore a more authentic, spatial music experience.

The P30A is also flexible when it comes to connectivity: with 2 balanced (XLR) and 3 unbalanced (RCA) inputs as well as a configurable home cinema input, the preamplifier can be perfectly integrated into any system. The output section comprises 1 balanced and 2 unbalanced outputs - all of which can be used simultaneously. One of the RCA outputs can be used as a fixed line out. There is also a 3.5 mm IR input and a 12 V trigger output.

The Hegel P30A is a musical master of its trade - a reference-level preamplifier that brings every detail, every nuance and every emotion of your favourite music to life precisely and naturally.

Hegel P30A - The conductor. For music in its purest form.
