Hifiman Edition XV - Open-back Planar Magnetic Headphones for Demanding Music Enjoyment
With the Edition XV, HiFiMAN expands its well-known Edition series with a model specifically designed for musical naturalness, high wearing comfort, and modern driver technology. The open-back over-ear headphones combine a newly developed diaphragm structure with a warmly tuned sound signature, targeting listeners who want to experience their music in detail, yet in a relaxed and long-term enjoyable manner.
The construction features a particularly light and responsive driver architecture that clearly brings out even the finest nuances of a recording. At the same time, the open-back design ensures an airy, spacious presentation where instruments are precisely positioned in space.
Further Developed Supernano Diaphragm
At the heart of the Edition XV is a new Supernano Diaphragm, significantly thinner than in previous models of the series. The reduced material thickness enables a particularly fast response to the smallest signal changes.
The result is a reproduction with high resolution and clear contour: transients appear more precise, bass structures more defined, and fine details become clearly audible without the sound losing its naturalness.
Musical, Warm Sound Tuning
While some models in the Edition series are more geared towards analytical precision, the Edition XV deliberately pursues a slightly warmer and fuller sound signature.
The bass range has substance and structure without being dominant. Voices are presented with pleasant presence and natural timbre, while the treble offers sufficient airiness and detail without appearing sharp. This tuning makes the headphones particularly suitable for longer listening sessions and a relaxed, musical listening experience.
Innovative Magnet Design
For the Edition XV, HiFiMAN employs a newly developed magnet concept that does without traditional rare-earth magnets. The special material structure is intended to enable particularly uniform control of the diaphragm and contributes to creating natural spaciousness and a coherent sound image.
Lightweight Construction and High Wearing Comfort
In addition to sonic development, wearing comfort has also been further improved. The Edition XV is lighter than its predecessor and uses a flexible combination of steel and aluminum for stability and adaptability.
The headband automatically adapts to the head shape, while movable swivel joints allow for optimal positioning of the earcups. This distributes the contact pressure evenly, and the headphones remain comfortable to wear even over extended periods.
Ergonomic Ear Pads
The generously sized ear pads offer ample space for the ears and simultaneously support the acoustic tuning of the headphones.
They are made of breathable materials, are skin-friendly, and can be easily cleaned or replaced if necessary. Optionally, Serenity Pads are also available, which allow for further customization of comfort and sound character.
Efficient Operation with High-Quality Audio Sources
With a relatively low impedance, the Edition XV can be flexibly operated with various devices. Especially in combination with high-quality DACs, HiFi components, or dedicated headphone amplifiers, the headphones can unleash their full sonic potential.
