An ambitious phono stage that bridges the gap between the Black Cube series and the top-of-the-line Silver Cube model: this is our Decade. Nevertheless, it is more of an exceptional performer than a stopgap. Thanks to leading-edge technology, it has the ability to satisfy even the most demanding music enthusiasts – and does so with pristine sound quality that far exceeds its price class.
Whether you’re spinning your favorite LPs time and again, or enjoy discovering unknown records, whether you’re listening alone or sharing music with trusted loved ones – the Decade impresses in every situation with a harmonious balance of passionate temperament and precise detail. Because that’s what it was made for: for you and your very own personal musical fireworks.
Audiophile through and through
Of course, components for the Decade were selected with the utmost care. For example, the input stages used ensure impressively low-noise playback. It’s no coincidence that they are also found in high-end mixers and microphone preamps from professional studio electronics manufacturers. The highly accurate, passive RIAA equalization network is positioned between two linear amplification stages and implemented using low-loss precision MKP capacitors. This ensures that impulses, dynamics, and tonal colors reach the music lover absolutely unaltered.
With your musical enjoyment in mind, Lehmann Audio also developed the PWX II power supply to let you benefit from even more performance. This power supply, with inductors at critical points, supplies the Decade with very low-noise DC voltages. Like the Silver Cube, it connects to the audio device via a shielded cable with Neutrik connectors. Since the PWX II power supply is backward-compatible with the PWX power supply, you can also connect the audio components of the Black Cube series. There’s a dedicated second output for this purpose.
Flexibility at its core
Of course, the Decade can also be fully customized to your needs via numerous settings. This means even exotic MC cartridges can be easily connected to this exceptional phono stage – the maximum gain of 66 dB is more than sufficient for this. To ensure that even the most unusual MC system finds its ideal match, there is a free slot for an optional impedance. You also have the option to adjust the input capacitances individually. The discrete Class-A output stage with high quiescent current delivers an open, fast sound signature and can handle even longer cables without issues.
The switches for gain adjustment and an optional "Soft Bass Rolloff-Filter" are conveniently operated via toggle switches on the front panel. The functions themselves are controlled inside the chassis using high-quality relays.
