The latest addition to the Meze Audio product range, from Romania, the 109 PRO, is the brand’s first dynamic open-back headphone.
Combining an open-back design with a walnut wood chamber that follows Meze Audio’s distinctive aesthetic language, the 109 PRO is precisely engineered to deliver an exceptional soundstage and a highly detailed, enveloping sound with just the right amount of punch. The new 50mm dynamic driver, assembled and tuned with the utmost precision, allowed Meze to push the boundaries of speed, accuracy, and dynamic range.

• To meet the acoustic goals set for the 109 PRO, R&D efforts focused on material exploration, and Meze looked for the perfect balance between diaphragm mass and stiffness to maximize the headphone’s sonic capabilities.
  
• The search led to the development of the 109 series Dual-Composite diaphragm – a combination of Beryllium-coated polymer, cellulose-carbon fiber composite, and a copper-zinc alloy.
  
• Acoustic design at its finest – the spider-shaped structure and the acoustically transparent grill inside the earcup expose the driver from both sides, creating Meze’s most open sound pattern to date.
  
• The velour pads comfortably encircle the ears, providing an optimal seal to create a natural sound. As velour is much softer and more breathable than leather, it also prevents sweat and overheating during lengthy listening sessions.
