Originally developed for the world-class CD player CD555, the 555 PS can also be used with the network players ND 555, NDS, NDX and NDX 2, the hard disk player/server HDX, the digital-to-analog converter DAC and the CD player CDX2. No matter which Naim product it is combined with, the 555 PS improves every aspect of playback: voices and instruments sound clearer and more natural, dynamics appear greater, and timing – the foundation for rhythm and musicality – becomes significantly more precise.

Technology
The 555 PS embodies decades of experience and Naim's relentless pursuit of the highest sound quality. Its massive transformer, which is around 40 percent larger than that of the XPS, has five windings with seven regulated power supplies – including one specially designed for the CD555's clock.
In 2012, the 555 PS was equipped with a new type of voltage regulator that Naim Audio had developed as part of a two-year project. The new regulator is discretely designed and features improvements in wiring, mechanical decoupling, and component layout. Thanks to these modifications, developed in numerous listening tests, the "DR" versions of Naim power supplies sound significantly cleaner and more musical than their predecessors.
