Over 40 Years of Engineering Expertise
The new network players incorporate all the experience from four decades of engineering expertise. From the innovative streaming module to the authentic-sounding audio circuits – everything carries the DNA of the best Naim products and offers Naim-typical sound quality. In the development of the ND 555, new technologies were also implemented: For the first time, Naim uses the LVDS interface standard in a premium player, which offers more efficient signal processing with lower power consumption.

Exceptional Design
The new network players were designed to combine Naim's best technology and innovative features with classic Naim design. All models feature the subtle and brushed front panel of the Classic series, with the ND 555 and NDX 2 additionally boasting a large color display. Together with the Naim app, you have access to the new Naim Streaming platform and features like Spotify and TIDAL, internet radio, local sources, and album art – in short, the entire world of music.

Comprehensive Control Made Easy
The ND 555 and NDX 2 come with a smart zigbee® remote control. It does not need to be pointed directly at the device, allowing you to operate your network player even "around the corner." A single remote control can be used for various Naim streamers, as it can be paired with a new device within a few seconds. The ND 555 and NDX 2 also feature a large color display with a proximity sensor and four buttons for the most important functions.

The intuitive Naim app gives you comprehensive control: access your local music collection, internet radio stations, and streaming services, as well as discographies and other artist information. You can also update your network player and load new features with a single tap thanks to over-the-air updates.

ND 555
From inputs to outputs, the ND 555 impresses with innovative technical solutions. For signal transmission in the streaming section, the latest Naim network card and the interference-resistant, high-clocked LVDS standard are used. The high clock rate allows decoding of all HD audio formats up to 32 bit/384 kHz or DSD 128. However, the new streaming board does not use the source as a digital clock generator, but rather the master clock of the D/A converter used in the ND 555. The data is oversampled in a SHARC DSP to an accuracy of 40 bits before being sent to the Burr-Brown PCM1704, an R2R converter valued for its high sound quality.

Naim DR voltage regulators, from Naim amplifier series and power supplies, are now used for the first time in a network player, where they supply the highly sensitive audio circuits of the ND 555 with an extremely stable DC voltage. Only high-quality through-hole components are used in the analog sections, mounted on a decoupled sub-chassis with heavy brass plates to protect against microphony.

Sonically Upgradeable
The playback quality of the ND 555 can be further improved with a second power supply and/or a Super-Lumina interconnect cable.
