Over 40 Years of Engineering Expertise
The new network players incorporate all the experience from four decades of engineering expertise. From the innovative streaming module to the authentic-sounding audio circuits – everything carries the DNA of the best Naim products and offers Naim's characteristic sound quality. In the development of the ND 555, new technologies were also implemented: For the first time, Naim uses the LVDS interface standard in a premium player, which offers more efficient signal processing with lower power consumption.

Exceptional Design
The new network players were designed to combine Naim's best technology and innovative features with classic Naim design. All models feature the subtle and brushed front panel of the Classic series, with the ND 555 and NDX 2 additionally boasting a large color display. Together with the Naim app, you have access to the new Naim streaming platform and features such as Spotify and TIDAL, web radio, local sources, and album art – in short, the entire world of music.

Comprehensive Control Made Easy
The ND 555 and NDX 2 come with a smart zigbee® remote control. It does not need to be pointed directly at the device, so you can operate your network player even "around the corner". A single remote control can be used for different Naim streamers, as it can be paired with a new device within seconds. The ND 555 and NDX 2 also feature a large color display with a proximity sensor and four buttons for the most important functions.

The intuitive Naim app gives you comprehensive control: access your local music collection, web radio stations and streaming services, as well as discographies and other artist information. You can also update your network player with a single tap via over-the-air updates and download new features.

The ND5 XS 2 uses the innovative Naim streaming platform with extended functionality. High-resolution UPnP™ streaming, AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, Bluetooth aptX HD, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Roon compatibility, web radio, and multiroom streaming make this versatile player the ideal partner for a Naim integrated amplifier.

Carefully selected, pair-matched components, an oversized toroidal transformer, decoupled circuit boards: The ND5 XS 2 always delivers natural, captivating sound quality thanks to classic Naim technology and meticulous attention to detail.

Technology
The streaming section of the ND5 XS 2 uses the latest Naim network card and the interference-resistant, high-clocked LVDS standard. The high clock rate allows all HD audio formats up to 32 bit/384 kHz or DSD 128 to be decoded. However, the new streaming board does not use the source as a digital clock, but rather the master clock of the D/A converter used in the NDX 2. The data is oversampled in a SHARC DSP to an extreme accuracy of 40 bits before being sent to the Burr Brown PCM1791A digital-to-analog converter.

Developing a new streaming platform was one of the biggest challenges Naim has ever faced. Naim engineers from various departments such as electronics, manufacturing, acoustics, and mechanics worked closely together for over three years to create a system that gets the best out of online services like TIDAL and Spotify and is open to future applications via integrated Chromecast technology. This stable platform supports higher data rates via dual-band Wi-Fi and the current 802.11ac protocol and has been designed in every respect for maximum quality.
