2-Channel Stereo Power Amplifier with Class AB Technology

The Onkyo M-80 is a powerful Class AB stereo power amplifier, delivering 200 watts into 4 ohms or 150 watts into 8 ohms per channel. This provides ample power reserves for demanding loudspeakers and larger listening rooms. Amplification is handled by a three-stage Inverted Darlington architecture, which combines high current capability with very low distortion. The result is controlled, dynamic, and finely resolved reproduction.

Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Connectivity

For maximum flexibility, the M-80 features both RCA and XLR inputs. Additionally, a 12V trigger-in is integrated, allowing the amplifier to be seamlessly integrated into complex audio setups.

High-Quality Component Architecture for Stable Performance

Inside, selected premium components are used, including 10,000 µF capacitors specially manufactured for Onkyo. A massive copper busbar ensures stable power distribution, while the reinforced housing structure reduces unwanted vibrations. This construction significantly contributes to a clean, controlled, and dynamic sound signature.

Massive Loudspeaker Terminals

The high-quality, gold-plated screw terminals allow for flexible connection of loudspeaker cables. 4mm banana plugs, spade connectors, and bare wire ends are supported. This ensures secure and low-loss signal transmission.

In combination with the Onkyo P-80 preamplifier, a harmonized high-end stereo system is created. This combination enables precise signal processing, high dynamic reserves, and clear spatial representation with excellent detail accuracy.

Analog VU Meters with Classic Character

The illuminated VU meters on the front panel show the current level in real time and provide visual feedback of the music dynamics. They combine technical function with classic HiFi aesthetics.

The M-80's housing consists of a combination of aluminum side panels, a stable steel top plate, and a solid aluminum front.
