For the Blue Hour
The Ortofon 2M Blue plays more dynamically and with more detail than an Ortofon 2M Red, thanks to its nude diamond stylus. A nude diamond has less moving mass compared to a bonded diamond. Due to the lower inertia, the stylus can follow the groove modulation more easily. The 2M Red can be converted into an Ortofon 2M Blue by installing the Ortofon Stylus 2M Blue.
The Ortofon 2M Blue Verso is mounted to the headshell from below using interchangeable threaded pins (2mm and 2.5mm diameter). This makes it suitable, for example, for many Thorens headshells that only allow cartridge mounting from below.
