- Moving Coil principle
- High tracking ability
- Shibata stylus cut
- NEW Quintet Black S with sapphire cantilever for even better vibration transfer to the coils
- Coil windings made of Aucurum (wire made of gold-plated, monocrystalline, oxygen-free 6N pure copper)
- Optimally suited for medium tonearm masses
- 1/2-inch mounting for uncomplicated assembly
- As with all MC cartridges, the stylus cannot be replaced
The top model of the Quintet series, the MC Quintet Black S, performs everything a notch better than its smaller siblings. And with good reason: its naked Shibata stylus is attached to an extremely stiff sapphire cantilever and follows even the finest changes in direction of the record groove. The vibrations are then converted into electrical signals by coils made of the same wire material used in the top cartridges in the Ortofon range, MC Xpression and MC Windfeld (as well as boron cantilevers): Aucurum, gold-plated 6N pure copper (OFC 99.99999%).
