The device is based on the proven DAC Box RS platform, but in the Final Edition, it has been further refined with selected premium components and sound-optimized details. These include specially tuned Diamond ECC88 tubes, high-quality selected components, and improved internal signal cabling. The result is a DAC that not only operates at the highest technical level but also offers exceptional versatility in terms of sound.

Dual-Mono DAC Architecture for Maximum Precision

Inside, two Texas Instruments PCM1792 DAC chips work in a high-quality dual-differential configuration. This sophisticated design ensures excellent channel separation, low distortion, and precise, detailed reproduction. PCM signals up to 24 Bit / 192 kHz as well as DSD up to DSD128 are processed, making the DAC suitable for classic CD transports as well as high-resolution digital sources. The asynchronous USB interface with XMOS technology minimizes jitter and ensures precise timing of digital audio data.

Tube Warmth or Class-A Precision – You Decide

A special feature of the DAC Box RS Final Edition is the switchable output stage. Users can choose between a tube output stage with ECC88 Diamond tubes and a solid-state Class-A output stage. While the tube variant offers a slightly warmer, more organic sound character, the transistor stage plays particularly neutral, dynamic, and high-resolution. In addition to USB-B, AES/EBU, coaxial S/PDIF inputs, optical Toslink inputs and I²S, the device also offers a BNC master clock output for ideal combination with suitable Pro-Ject components such as the CD Box RS. On the output side, both balanced XLR outputs and unbalanced RCA/Cinch outputs are available. This allows the DAC to be easily integrated into high-quality stereo or preamplifier setups.
