Through intensive research and development, Pro-Ject has succeeded in further refining the sound quality of the classic RPM design. The RPM 9 Carbon uses an extra-heavy chassis construction made of CNC-milled MDF with integrated steel granulate embedded in synthetic resin. Elaborate heat treatment and a carbon coating achieve perfect resonance behavior. The mass-loaded turntable is effectively decoupled from the surface by magnetic feet. A special polished aluminum platter with embedded TPE resonance damping uses a vinyl layer as a mat, and the inverted platter bearing with ceramic ball and plate offers outstanding smoothness and rumble-free operation. The extra-heavy freestanding motor is equipped with precise motor control, which allows for convenient 33/45 speed switching. With the uncompromising 9" Evo tonearm with a conical tube and inverted pivot bearings, every cartridge system finds ideal scanning conditions. The RPM 9 Carbon SuperPack includes the pre-mounted low-output MC cartridge Ortofon Cadenza Red. The signal is transmitted to the preamplifier via the highly flexible internal wiring and the "Connect it Phono CC" phono cable with RCA connectors (XLR optionally available).
