With the additionally built-in preamplifier, the Planar 1 Plus can be connected directly to the high-level inputs of any system via RCA (Cinch) or 3.5mm jack cables. So there is no need to purchase an extra phono amplifier if the existing devices do not have a phono input.
This specially designed high-quality MM phono stage is based on the multi-award-winning Fono Mini. For use in the Planar 1 Plus, its circuitry was to be optimized for the highest playback quality. For this purpose, Rega omitted the USB computer interface and invested the saved effort in further improving an already excellent amplifier.
The Planar 1 Plus is therefore suitable for connection as a high-level source, such as a CD player. A suitable cable is already included for this purpose. The installation of a phono stage in the turntable under the tonearm has undeniable advantages.
The carefully shielded tonearm cable is directly connected to the preamplifier, thus largely eliminating disturbing external influences.
