Only the proven base and the powerful motor remain - beyond that, essentially everything has been optimized or re-engineered. For example, the Planar 3 already features the new RB 330 tonearm - with a new bearing housing, improved anti-skating function, and low-capacitance internal wiring. Furthermore, during the development of the Planar 3, everything was focused on smoother running and greater stability.
Additional resonance-reducing measures have been taken everywhere - not extensively, but in precisely the right places. The plinth itself and the bracing have been efficiently reinforced, the brass housing for the bearing has been machined with even greater precision, and the new feet of the Planar 3 have also been optimized for perfect energy dissipation. And with its new acrylic finish, the Planar 3 also looks a whole lot more elegant.

The new RB330 tonearm with renewed anti-skating adjustment, a further developed stiffer vertical bearing housing, integrated armrest, and improved spring adjustment of the tracking force. Horizontal and vertical axes feature improved low-friction bearings. In addition, there is a newly developed tonearm cable with low capacitance and Neutrik connectors, as well as a newly designed 100g steel counterweight.

The chassis is coated with high-gloss acrylic, it is stiffer than before and looks even better, and the on/off switch has been moved to a convenient position. The surface is available in two colors: glossy black and white.
