The Planar 6 builds on the great success of the RP8 and RP10 turntables. It is the first Rega turntable to be constructed with an ultra-light Tan-Cast 8 polyurethane foam plinth (developed for the aerospace industry). This material is sandwiched between two layers of HPL (High Pressure Laminate). HPL is exceptionally thin, yet extremely rigid.
The Planar 6 has a new 24V motor, which is matched to the also new NEO power supply.
The NEO PSU uses the RP10 DSP (Digital Signal Processing Generator), which is built on a highly stable crystal. The DSP generator also produces a nearly perfect sinusoidal waveform.
