Building on the proven concept of the ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition, the EX version combines modernized hardware, improved output power, and extended protection mechanisms with the exceptional versatility for which the ADI-2 series is world-renowned.

As an uncompromising all-in-one solution, the ADI-2 Pro EX combines several professional audio components in a single device: a high-resolution, studio-quality AD/DA converter, a powerful balanced and unbalanced headphone amplifier, a multi-format converter for AES, SPDIF and ADAT, a DSD recording and playback converter, and a precise front-end for audio measurements with up to 768 kHz sample rate.

This makes the ADI-2 Pro EX equally suitable for recording studios, mastering applications, demanding HiFi setups, and professional measurement systems.

New Housing Design with Improved Cooling

The EX version features a completely redesigned housing with optimized ventilation and improved heat dissipation. The larger chassis is visually based on the design of the ADI-2/4 Pro and simultaneously ensures more stable continuous operation even under high loads.

The high-quality appearance is complemented by the elegant chrome feet of the ADI-2 DAC FS, which further enhance its desktop presence.

Lockable USB-C Port

The modern USB-C port offers a secure and robust connection for professional working environments. Thanks to the locking mechanism, the connection remains reliable even in mobile or complex studio setups. A matching 1.8-meter USB cable is already included in the scope of delivery.

Significantly More Powerful Headphone Amplifier

RME has improved the output power of the ADI-2 Pro EX in both balanced and unbalanced operation. This allows even demanding high-end headphones to be driven with high precision, dynamics, and control.

Extended Protection Circuits

The ADI-2 Pro EX was specifically designed for long-term reliability and professional continuous use. New hardware protection circuits monitor each channel independently and offer effective DC protection.

In addition, an active, fuse-less power supply circuit reliably protects against incorrect polarity and overvoltage.

New Universal Power Supply NT-RME-13

The new lockable universal power supply NT-RME-13 is included in the scope of delivery. It can be used worldwide, is particularly light, and features a partial ground to dissipate leakage currents. This effectively minimizes potential ground loops.

Professional Connectivity for Every Application

The ADI-2 Pro EX impresses with its enormous range of connections and flexible routing options. In addition to AES, SPDIF, and ADAT, a TS trigger output is available for the first time, allowing external amplifiers or other components to be switched on and off synchronously.

Furthermore, the converter remains fully compatible with the new RM19-III 19-inch rackmounts and can thus be easily integrated into professional studio racks.
