The ventilation openings on both sides enable fanless and thus noiseless operation of the N8. The LEDs on the front inform the user at all times about the status of each of the eight 100/1000Base-T ports. Power supply, alarm, or connection status are available at a glance.
The multi-shielded power supply actively reduces the electrical noise of the AC voltage, thus preventing the quality of the network signals from being impaired. Power consumption without load is less than 0.075W, proving the high energy efficiency of the N8.
Bonn N8 – The Technology
The Bonn N8 features a custom-made TCXO (Temperature Compensation Crystal Oscillator) that operates with high precision. The accuracy is 0.1ppm (parts per Million). This accuracy is much higher than that of normal quartz oscillators or other off-the-shelf TCXOs. With this custom TCXO, the Bonn N8 is able to generate a more accurate network signal and thus ensure more stable music & video data transmission.
The two electronic noise reduction circuits operate with a noise reduction rate of 17dB for the power supply and 20dB for clock generation, ensuring that the Bonn N8 always operates stably and generates and transmits the best possible network signals.
Furthermore, the Bonn N8 has specially selected damping against electromagnetic interference. Disturbances from internal digital circuits are perfectly absorbed on the inside of the housing, and the network signal, including the clock signal, works significantly more stably.
Compared to conventional network switches, these innovations and creative technologies make the Bonn N8 stand out from the crowd. The resulting improvements can also be measured. Compared to standard devices, signals from the Bonn N8 show 90% fewer jitter components. Time errors in audio/video signals are thus a thing of the past. A must for high-quality streaming systems!
