The SR-007S is the latest generation in STAX's storied 007 series – a product line that has set standards in electrostatic headphones since its introduction. Building on the proven SR-007 and SR-007A models, the SR-007S has been consistently developed further – with a focus on acoustic fine-tuning, mechanical precision, and supreme wearing comfort.
A New Heart
At the core of the innovations are revised diaphragms and further developed fixed electrodes. These have been refined compared to the previous models: the openings in the large circular electrodes have been reduced by 20%, achieved through a high-precision etching process. The result is an even more uniform soundstage with enhanced detail reproduction and improved control in the low-frequency range.
No Vibrations
A central design feature is the new Anti-Resonance Structure (ARS). Inspired by the flagship SR-X9000, a redesigned headband with a seamless stainless steel plate provides greater stiffness in the housing and significantly reduced susceptibility to vibrations. This is complemented by a movable hinge design that optimally adapts to the shape of the head, thereby improving wearing comfort – without mechanical adjustment mechanisms.
Cloud-Soft
High-quality ear pads made of genuine sheepskin are used for direct contact with the ear. These are pivot-mounted and improve both fit and acoustic properties. The material reduces disturbing reflections, contributing to a more precise spatial imaging. The also revised inner padding complements the sound absorption and conveys an even clearer soundscape with more depth.
Replace Instead of Discard
The detachable, low-capacitance cable allows for easy replacement when needed and contributes to the product's longevity. Like all STAX top models, the SR-007S is manufactured in Japan – with the utmost care and quality control.
