The ARCAM AVP45 is designed as an AV processor for large, high-end home cinema systems. It handles decoding, signal processing, and system control, forming the technical core for setups requiring maximum flexibility. Developed in Cambridge, UK, it is engineered as a control hub for uncompromising home cinema installations with external amplification.

16 Channels, Full Freedom

With 16 channels and Matrix Channel Assignment, the AVP45 can be adjusted very flexibly to different speaker concepts. This is a clear advantage for users who do not build their home cinema according to rigid specifications, but focus on the room and desired playback instead. According to the datasheet, all channels are freely assignable, and both balanced and unbalanced preamplifier outputs are available for every channel.

Immersive Formats and Precision

Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, and MPEG-H cover the most important spatial formats. When combined with Dirac Live, this creates a processor that not only manages many channels, but can also respond specifically to the room. Additional features include Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualisation, Dolby Surround, DTS HD Master, DTS Neural:X, DTS Virtual:X, and a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Modern Sources and Streaming

HDMI 2.1a with 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz, eARC, as well as streaming via AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, and Roon Ready make the AVP45 fit for current source devices. The large color display and the Radia App ensure that the many functions can still be operated clearly. In addition, the datasheet lists HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ Gaming, Dolby Vision, HLG, VRR, ALLM, CEC, On-Screen-Display, Gapless Playback, and Hi-Res audio up to 24 bit / 192 kHz.

The AVP45 is aimed at home cinemas where performance, adaptability, and sound quality must align. It is particularly suitable as a control hub for large systems with external power amplification and provides the necessary technical depth for highly ambitious setups.
