All components redesigned
The optical unit, lens, and circuit board were revised to develop the world's smallest native 4K projector.
Volume reduction
The dimensions of the DLA-NZ700/NZ500/RS2200/RS1200 were reduced by 35% compared to the previous model DLA-NZ7/RS2100, while still integrating a laser light source and a native 4K D-ILA device.
Redesign of air intake and exhaust
By placing the heat source exhaust on the back, the potential impact on the projected image surface was eliminated, offering more flexibility in installation.
Environmental considerations
Significantly less plastic was used in the construction of the new projector models, which also reduces transport costs, resulting in a product that is much more environmentally friendly.
NATIVE 4K
0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA device improves video quality
The proprietary 0.69-inch D-ILA device for native 4K was further developed to enhance black details even more.
High native contrast
The DLA-NZ700/RS2200 achieves a native contrast ratio of 80,000:1* by improving alignment control and pixel flatness simultaneously. *: 40,000:1 for the DLA-NZ500/RS1200
Uniform brightness
The manufacturing process has improved the uniformity of brightness across the entire screen, so image quality is consistent in every corner.
Low latency
The low-latency design improves response to the player's fast operations, making it suitable for displaying high-frame-rate game content on large screens.
NEW BLU-ESCENT LASER
High brightness and long lifespan
JVC-developed Blu-Escent laser light source technology uses a blue laser diode as the light source. The DLA-NZ700 reaches a high brightness of 2,300 lm and the DLA-NZ500 reaches 2,000 lm. Both models have an expected lifespan of approximately 20,000 hours.
Improved power efficiency
The brightness of the DLA-NZ700/NZ500 per watt of effective power is approximately double that of the first BLU-Escent Laser model (the DLA-Z1 was released in January 2017 with a brightness of 3,000 lm).
Light intensity control in 101 steps
The BLU-Escent Laser can fine-tune light density according to the environment and preferences using the slider-based light source control. There are a total of 101 (0 - 100) light density adjustment levels that can be used to make precise adjustments to match the target light density in the environment and on the screen.
NEWLY DEVELOPED FULLY MOTORIZED 4K LENS
Superior resolution
The newly developed 4K-compatible large-aperture lens (80 mm, 11 groups, 15 lenses) delivers full native 4K D-ILA resolution to every corner of the screen.
Installation flexibility
Fully electric (zoom, focus, shift), with 70% vertical and 28% horizontal shift for easy installation.
ULTIMATE DYNAMIC RANGE
HDR dramatically enhances image expression
When it comes to reproducing the rich video information of HDR content, including the extended brightness range, wide BT.2020 color space, and 10-bit gradations, you can rely on the new D-ILA projectors. Both models support all HDR formats, including HDR10 for Blu-ray and streaming, HLG for broadcasting, and HDR10+ with dynamic metadata compatibility. The projectors' improvements in brightness and contrast have helped achieve a larger dynamic range, so users can enjoy a realistic HDR experience.
DML (Display Mastering Luminance) for a better HDR experience
DML (Max Display Mastering Luminance) metadata, which represents the nit level of the professional monitor used to evaluate the film according to the director's standards, is used to adjust the title's dynamic range for improved HDR tone mapping. For the DLA-NZ700/NZ500 series, both DML and MaxCLL values are used for HDR stages.
About HDR10+
In HDR10, the basic standard for HDR content playback, there are only two pieces of information: MaxCLL, which indicates the content's maximum brightness, and MaxFALL, which indicates the average maximum brightness. In HDR10+, luminance information for each scene is embedded as metadata in the content, enabling scene-specific tone mapping and faithfully reproducing the HDR image intended by the creator.
Gen2 Frame Adapt HDR function for brighter, more vivid HDR images
The Frame Adapt HDR function, which uses a proprietary algorithm to instantly analyze the maximum brightness of each HDR10 content per scene or per frame and perform real-time tone mapping for optimal dynamic range for video projection, has been developed into the second generation (Gen2). The tone mapping algorithm was completely revised to produce higher-resolution HDR images. In addition, the proprietary algorithm for tone curve selection was improved to reproduce HDR images that are brighter, more colorful, and have a larger dynamic range.
Deeper black tones for richer gradations
The new Deep Black Tone Control was added to Frame Adapt HDR, featuring a new algorithm that further darkens tones in dark areas to achieve more realistic darkness. This function maximizes the dynamic range of the new generation of 4K D-ILA devices, delivering images with more contrast than ever before. Scenes with bright and dark shading, such as night landscapes, can be projected more realistically.
FILMMAKER MODE™
FILMMAKER MODE™ for faithful reproduction of the creator's original intentions.
ADVANCED JVC TECHNOLOGY
Equipped with Vivid picture mode, which reproduces SDR content in rich colors
Vivid Picture Mode is a Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) picture mode that reproduces content in rich colors. You can enjoy popular SDR video content, such as animations, in bright, rich colors and clear images.
Proof of high-quality projectors licensed with ISF certifications
All models are licensed with ISF C3 (Certified Calibration Controls) mode, which allows trained professional dealers to calibrate them professionally to the desired screen surfaces, lighting environments, and video sources, and then safely save these precise settings in the projector.
6-axis color management system
A 6-axis matrix of red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow allows precise adjustment of hue, saturation, and intensity. Since the projector enables precise color management, the user can make adjustments suitable for the specific content.
Auto-calibration function
Using an optical sensor and proprietary software*2, optimal calibration can be performed in a few simple steps to compensate for changes in optical properties caused by the projector's installation setup. Auto-calibration optimizes all essential elements of the image, including color balance, gamma characteristics, color space, and color tracking. Whereas multiple calibrations were required in the past, it is now possible to complete calibration in a single step.
*2: An optical sensor and dedicated software are required to perform auto-calibration, which can be downloaded from the JVC website. For more information, visit the JVC website.
PRACTICAL FUNCTIONS
Installation mode
These projectors are equipped with Installation mode, which allows users to centrally manage installation settings to enjoy projected video optimized for the specific environment. As shown in the graphical user interface, eight settings can be adjusted for Lens Control, Pixel Adjustment, Mask, Anamorphic on/off, Screen Adjust, Installation Style, Keystone, and Aspect. Additionally, 5 different mode settings can be saved and named as desired. Saved installation modes for different environments can be recalled immediately.
Screen Adjust mode
Screen Adjust mode is one of the nine installation modes described above. When the user selects a setting from Screen Adjust mode that best matches the screen being used, the projector adjusts the image to the screen with natural color balance. The mode is compatible with the latest models from the world's leading screen manufacturers.
Digital Keystone function*
These projectors are equipped with the Digital Keystone function. The Digital Keystone function corrects keystone distortion that occurs when the projector is set up at an angle.
* The Digital Keystone function cannot be used simultaneously. Keystone correction is only performed in the vertical direction.
Anamorphic mode for wide cinematic films
By combining the projector with a third-party anamorphic lens, an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 can be used for wide cinematic films to achieve dynamic image playback like in a theater.
USB Backup
The USB Backup function allows settings from the device's main menu to be saved at once to a third-party USB flash drive. This is important to save settings made by an installer or specialist, or to undo accidental settings made by children or family members.
