Sonic Evolution
The Meze Empyrean II consistently continues the success story of its predecessor, uniting sound, design, and craftsmanship into a cohesive overall composition. The second generation was purposefully developed further together with Rinaro Isodynamics, offering a modern-tuned, more neutral sound signature while delivering higher detail resolution. At the same time, it retains the characteristic, effortless connection to music that already distinguished the first Empyrean.
Technology and Driver Design
At its core is the advanced isodynamic hybrid array driver. Two symmetrically arranged drivers work with a specially developed neodymium magnet system to distribute sound energy evenly across the diaphragm. The extremely lightweight diaphragm ensures precise, low-distortion playback. Differently shaped voice coils within the same diaphragm optimize fit for the ear and particularly improve high-frequency reproduction and spatial imaging.
Design and Craftsmanship
The CNC-machined housing in matte black with silver accents combines iconic Meze design elements with a modern, sculptural aesthetic. The redesigned grilles draw influences from Art Deco style and emphasize the high-quality standards. Each driver is handmade and individually tested, further reinforcing its premium character.
Sound Character and Performance
The sonic advancement is evident in higher resolution, greater spatial depth, and enhanced musicality. The overall tuning feels cleaner and more controlled, without sacrificing long-term comfort. At the same time, the diaphragm was optimized for stability, ensuring consistent performance even under demanding conditions.
Ergonomics and Comfort
The oval ear cups follow an anthropometric approach and adapt optimally to various head shapes. An intelligent mechanism distributes pressure evenly and reduces pressure points. High-quality materials and the balanced design enable long listening sessions without fatigue.
Custom Sound Tuning
Two interchangeable ear pads enable different sound signatures. The Duo ear pads made of leather and Alcantara offer a balanced tuning with precise bass and an open soundstage. The angled Alcantara ear pads focus on fine detail, openness, and particularly clear midrange reproduction.
Connection and Flexibility
The Empyrean II is delivered as standard with a 2.5-meter 6.3-mm cable. Additional connection options such as 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm Pentaconn, XLR, or 2.5 mm balanced are available for different setups. This allows the headphones to be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of HiFi environments.
