The New Vertex Diamond

At the heart of the MC Vertex is the proprietary Vertex diamond developed by Ortofon. The innovative line-contact geometry was designed to significantly increase the contact area with the groove and further improve the retrieval of the finest information.

With a scanning radius of only 4 μm and an extended contact radius of 110 μm, the Vertex diamond achieves exceptionally stable tracking. The larger contact area distributes pressure more evenly along the groove walls, reducing wear and simultaneously improving detail resolution.

Even the most complex musical structures are reproduced with impressive precision, calmness, and control. The finest microdynamics, spatial information, and natural timbres are completely preserved.

Solid Diamond Cantilever

The Vertex diamond is mounted on a solid diamond cantilever. This construction combines maximum stiffness with extremely low moving mass, enabling particularly efficient energy transfer.

Due to the high mechanical stability, resonances are minimized, and transients are rendered exceptionally cleanly. The result is an exceptionally direct and controlled playback with excellent impulse fidelity, high dynamics, and impressive clarity.

Titanium Structure from Selective Laser Melting Process

For the housing and inner core, Ortofon uses a high-precision titanium structure manufactured using the selective laser melting process. This modern manufacturing technology allows for precise control of geometry, material density, and internal damping.

The mechanically extremely stable construction effectively reduces unwanted resonances and vibrations and creates optimal conditions for unadulterated signal acquisition.

The result is exceptionally clean, focused, and transparent playback with excellent spatial definition and stable imaging across the entire frequency spectrum.

Sophisticated Magnetic System with Silver Coils

The MC Vertex utilizes an elaborately constructed magnetic system with a non-magnetic armature to minimize unwanted magnetic interactions and reduce moving mass.

In combination with high-purity silver coils, this design enables extremely linear and stable signal generation. At the same time, the transient response is significantly improved, allowing even complex musical passages to be reproduced with impressive control and naturalness.

The high channel separation and excellent channel balance additionally contribute to precise spatial representation and exceptionally realistic soundstage imaging.

Wide Range Damping for Maximum Control

Another central element of the MC Vertex is Ortofon's proprietary Wide Range Damping system. This involves a special platinum disc placed between two dampers made of specially developed rubber compounds.

This patented system controls resonances across the entire audible frequency range while ensuring a dynamic and lively response.
